Collection Sharing Licence
identifystamp.com website account feature
Version: collection-licence-v1 — Last Updated: September 12, 2026
This licence applies only if you sign in to the website with an account and choose "Share this album publicly" for one or more albums of your collection. If you never do that, nothing here applies to you. Sharing is separate from the app's contribution settings and from the Catalog Display Licence; each is its own choice.
The one thing to understand before sharing: once a page has been public, other people, search engines and archiving services may copy, cache or index it. You can unshare an album at any time and we will remove our copy of every photo and detail on it — but we cannot recall copies that other people have already made.
1. What you are granting
For each album you share, you grant Viksva, MB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to store, reproduce, resize, re-encode and publicly display the photographs you took of the stamps in that album, together with the structured details of those stamps that the website publishes (country, year, denomination, design name, series, catalogue number as you entered it, stamp type, and condition grades), on:
- identifystamp.com and its subdomains (the public catalogue and your collection pages), and
- the Stamp Identifier / Identify My Stamps apps.
"Perpetual" means the licence does not expire by itself; it ends for a photograph when you unshare the album that contains it or delete your account, subject to the copies-already-made limit above.
2. What you keep
- You keep ownership of your photographs. This licence transfers nothing; you remain free to use, sell, license or publish them however you like.
- It is non-exclusive. Granting it to us does not stop you granting the same rights to anyone else.
- Your private data stays private. Estimated values, purchase details, your notes, how many of each stamp you own, and the identifiers of your devices and scans are never published. See Privacy Policy Section 5.7.
- Your identity is your choice. Your collection pages appear under the handle you chose. Your email address and sign-in provider are never shown.
3. What this licence does NOT cover
- Not the stamp design. The licence covers your photograph. Copyright in a stamp's design belongs to the issuing postal authority or the artist, not to the person who photographs it. We are responsible for our own decisions about which stamps we display and will remove any image on a valid rights-holder request.
- Not resale or sublicensing as stock. We will not sublicense your photographs to third parties as stock imagery, sell them as image assets, or license them for use outside the website and apps described in Section 1.
- Not photographs that are not yours to license. By sharing you confirm the photographs are ones you took yourself, or that you otherwise hold the rights to license them as described here. Scans copied from catalogues, auction listings or other websites may not be shared and will be removed.
- Not other people's personal data. Photograph the stamp only. We do not publish images in which personal data of any person is legible, and we remove any published image on request from a person shown or named in it.
4. Our review and removal rights
Shared items appear on the website without a prior review, and we review them afterwards. We may hide any item, hold any album, or suspend sharing for any account at our discretion — for example when an image is not a photograph of the account holder's own stamp, shows personal data, or breaks the Terms of Service. Removal by us is not a judgement about you and does not affect your ownership.
5. Ending the licence
Turn off "Share this album publicly" for an album, or delete your account. We remove our public copies within minutes and our private working copies within our normal deletion window (see the Privacy Policy). Cached copies held by search engines and third parties are outside our control.
